Use freshly frozen ice, as it won't have freezer burn that can spoil the flavor of a mixed drink. Bartenders are responsible for serving and mixing drinks, which is a wide variety to say the least. A tap person used to working in pub style establishments may not know cocktails.
You learn how to operate the bar equipment, and there are even courses in ordering supplies, inventory control and profit margins. Flair bartending has started being viewed as a sport and is a great way to entertain your guests. If they feel like you are likeable and have a positive attitude they will think that their customers will like you and spend more money.
Make it your priority in your interview to make the interview feel more like a conversation. Bartending requires that you put your personality on display and you must do this in the interview.
