When the economy isn't doing well, bar business can actually go up. There are a lot of terms that are standards in bartending.
Often bartenders at busy night clubs can make over five hundred dollars per shift, but the norm is closer around two or three hundred. Today's bartenders are a breed apart, savvy and knowledgeable performers in a fast paced exciting environment. Bartenders are the people who make and serve drinks at the bar.
Depending on the ingredients in your drink, it may be more effective to shake or stir the drink. People want someone that they can rely on, so if you know how to create their drinks of likings and do it fast, along with talking to them and having a few laughs, they will really grow to appreciate you and your bartending abilities. A not so well known drink is the Mulls and is a sweetened or spiced wine, beer or liquor, heated and served as hot punch.
Remember jokes when you hear them and study them on the Internet. Customers want and expect to see a smiling face making their drinks, so have fun.
